PATTI CALCIO

La Patti calcistica ha visto fiorire diverse squadre nella sua storia. Già nel 1959- 60 e seguito, militava nella Lega Calcio Sicilia l’U.S. Real Savoia Patti, che oltre al calcio, aveva anche una formazione ciclistica. A partire dalla metà degli anni ’60 venne alla ribalta la storica Pattese, con la storica maglia bianco-nera, dei vari Faranda (portiere), Barbiera, Scardino ecc. che militava nel campionato di Seconda Categoria siciliana ottenendo discreti piazzamenti; da ricordare la stagione 1967-68 quando la Pattese concluse la stagione con un secondo posto dietro il Villafranca. Agli inizi degli anni ’70 la squadra compì il salto di categoria ed approdò nel campionato di Promozione (allora, chiamata la “serie A” siciliana) disputando ottimi campionati fino alla stagione 1978-79. Quel campionato fu la consacrazione per la Pattese. Infatti si piazzò al primo posto con 46 punti battendo squadre del calibro del Giarre (3-1) o Milazzo (1-0) e venne promossa in serie D.  Nel 1979-80 purtroppo la Pattese non riuscì a salvarsi e retrocesse posizionandosi penultima con 28 punti. Rimane solo la gioia di aver battuto squadre come l’Acireale (2-1) e il Trapani (1-0) e le prodezze del mitico attaccante Barna. Dal 1980 fino alla stagione 1983-84 la Pattese rimase in Promozione e dopo retrocesse nuovamente in Prima Categoria.  La fine degli anni ’80 videro la nascita di una nuova società dopo il fallimento della Pattese: la Polisportiva Patti. I nuovi colori sociali della maglia erano il bianco-azzurro.

Nel 1989 ripartì dalla Seconda Categoria. Nella stagione 1990-91 giunse al secondo posto dietro la Mamertina e l’anno successivo venne promossa in Prima Categoria dove rimase per una stagione per poi essere promossa nuovamente in Promozione. La stagione 1993-94 va ricordata per lo straordinario quarto posto del Patti e il ripescaggio che le permise di approdare in Eccellenza nella stagione 1994-95 e arrivare al settimo posto. Nel 1995-96 il Patti disputò una stagione esemplare giungendo seconda dietro la sua rivale storica, l’Orlandina. Quell’anno va ricordato per la seconda promozione in serie D ( allora chiamata C.N.D.). Infatti il Patti vinse gli spareggi contro Vittoria (2-1 e 0-0) e contro la Pro Cisterna (0-0 e 4-5 ai rigori).  Nel 1996-97 nel C.N.D. il Patti partì bene nelle prime sei partite racimolando ben 8 punti e poi il crollo finanziario e calcistico, soprattutto nel girone di ritorno (appena 4 punti), perdendo addirittura per 8-0 contro Locri e Milazzo. Alla fine giunse al penultimo posto con 20 punti con alle spalle il Messina con 18 punti. In quella squadra giocarono atleti del calibro di Papa, Carianni, Parlavecchio, Paky Tramontana, gente che fu l’artefice della promozione nel C.N.D. la stagione precedente. Nel 1997-98 in Eccellenza, il Patti non si riuscì a salvare all’ultima giornata: Patti – Giarre 2-1, si sperava solo che il Trecastagni perdesse a Lentini, ma invece finì 0-0. Patti terzultimo a 31 pt e Trecastagni 32. Con la retrocessione finì l’era della Polisportiva Patti e iniziò quella del Patti Calcio del Presidente Bonsignore. Si riparte dalla Promozione nel 1998-99 giungendo al nono posto. Nel 1999-2000 il Patti Calcio arrivò al quinto posto perdendo lo spareggio play-off promozione con il Riposto per 3-0. In quella squadra giocarono gente come Vinci, Baglione, Barbitta ecc. Nel 2001-2002 sfiorò i play-off arrivando al sesto posto. Nel 2002-2003 Il Patti rischiò seriamente di retrocedere. Giunse all’undicesimo posto, l’allenatore Castanotto venne esonerato e il difensore-allenatore Bonanno prese il suo posto trascinando la compagine pattese alla vittoria nei play-out contro il Roccalumera per 2-0. Nel 2003-04 la società cambiò i colori della maglietta, riproponendo quelli storici della vecchia Pattese, ossia il bianco-nero. Nella stagione 2004-05 Il Patti è arrivato quinto ma ha perso i play-off contro la Torrenovese (1-1).  

 

 

 

The city of Patti had several football teams in his story.  In the 1959-60 the U.S. Real Savoia Patti played in the Lega Calcio Sicilia .  From the 60s years the team of Pattese was born and his jersey had the colours black and white. In that team played several important players like Faranda ( goalkeeper), Barbiera, Scardino..... Pattese played in the Seconda Categoria’s championship achieving fair positions;  it is important to believe the regular season 1967-68 when Pattese arrived at the second position behind Villafranca.  At the beginning of  the 70s years the team came to Promozione’s championship (then, called the sicilian “serie A”) disputing excellent championships till the season 1978-79. That regular season was very good for Pattese. In fact he arrived in the first position with 46 points winning against strong teams like Giarre (3-1) or Milazzo (1-0) and was promoted in the D division.  Unfortunately in the 1979-80 Pattese relegated arriving at the next to last position with 28 points.  It remains only the happiness to have won  teams like Acireale (2-1) and Trapani (1-0) and to have had a good player Barna.  From 1980 till the season 1983-84 Pattese remained in promozione and later relegated in the Prima Categoria’s championship.  In the end of  the 80s years after the Pattese’s failure, a new football team was born: the Polisportiva Patti. The new social colours were blue and white.

In the 1989 Patti played in the Seconda Categoria’s championship. In the season 1990-91 he arrived inthe second position behind Mamertina and the next year was promoted in Prima Categoria where remained for one season and after was repromoted in Promozione. The season 1993-94 was important for the excellent fourth position and because he was promoted again in Eccellenza’s championship in  1994-95 and arriving at the seventh position. In the 1995-96 Patti played a good season arriving at the second position behind his historical rival: Orlandina. That year was important for the second promoting in the D division ( then, called C.N.D.). In fact Patti won the play-off against Vittoria (2-1 and 0-0) and vs Pro Cisterna (0-0 and 4-5 penalities). In the season 1996-97 in the C.N.D. Patti played good in the first six matches taking 8 points but after there was the economic and football crisis, especially in the return season (only 4 points), losing even 8-0 vs Locri and Milazzo. At the end arrived at th next to last position with 20 points with at backs Messina with 18 points. In that team good athletes played like Papa, Carianni, Parlavecchio, Paky Tramontana.  In the 1997-98 in Eccellenza, Patti didn’t manage to save hisself in the last day: Patti-Giarre 2-1 and they hoped that Trecastagni lost in Lentini, but on the contrary that match finished 0-0; Patti 31 points, Trecastagni 32. With the relegation finished the era of Polisportiva Patti and that of Patti Calcio of the President Bonsignore began. Patti played in Promozione in 1998-99 arriving at the ninth position. In the 1999-2000 Patti Calcio arrived at the fifth position losing the play-off  vs Riposto 3-0. In that team played good players like Vinci, Baglione, Barbitta...  In the 2001-2002 he  arrived at the sixth position. In the 2002-2003 Patti Calcio risked seriously to relegate. He arrived at the eleventh position, the trainer Castanotto was exempted from Patti Calcio and the player-trainer Bonanno brought the team to win the play-out vs Roccalumera 2-0. In the 2003-2004 the Club changed  the social colours into black and white, that of  the old Pattese. In the season 2004-05 Patti Calcio arrived at fifth position but lost the play-off vs Torrenovese (1-1).
