La storia calcistica del Fanfulla si aprì il 28 giugno 1908 sull' ampio prato verde nei pressi della Trattoria Due Chiavi ( che si trova all'altezza del passeggio esterno fra l'attuale Porta Cremona, che allora si chiamava Porta Roma, e via San Colombano). La squadra nacque per iniziativa di Marcello Ghisio, già ginnasta e pioniere del giornalismo sportivo, e di alcuni altri appassionati dello sport del pallone, che in città si sviluppo soprattutto nei circoli ricreativi e nei collegi scolastici. In quegli anni, badate bene, assistere alla partita costava mezza lira, altro che le decine di euro odierne! Inoltre, in un periodo in cui la bicicletta spopolava, si poteva anche arrivare al campo in carrozza e alla fine, vincitori e vinti, festeggiavano con abbondanti libagioni allestendo uno di quei famosi "terzi tempi" che ora sopravvivono solo nel rugby. Il primo presidente del Fanfulla calcio fu l'avvocato Paolo Bonomi. Erano anni avventurosi, ma di vivace crescita e di grande sviluppo sportivo. Si giocavano amichevoli e tornei, e capitava anche di incontrare l'Internazionale o il Milan in duelli che profumavano davvero di derby. In città non mancavano altre squadre: c'erano il Lodi Football Club, l'Associazione Studenti del Pallavicino, l'Unione Sportiva Lodigiana, il Savoia in Borgo Adda, i collegi Cazzulani, Cavour, La Marmora e S. Francesco; i campi da gioco erano le Due Chiavi, ma anche l'Isola Bella e il Velodromo, oltre l'Adda.

The soccer history of the Fanfulla opened on June 28 1908 on the ample green lawn near the Restaurant Two Keys (that is found among the actual Door Cremona (that then called Door Rome) and street St. Colombano). The team was born for initiative of Marcello Ghisio, already gymnast and pioneer of the sporting journalism, and of some others impassioned of the sport of the ball, that in the city he develops especially in the recreational circles and in the scholastic colleges. In that years, mind well, assist to the game cost half lira, anything else other than the about ten of Euros of today! Besides, in one period in which the bicycle depopulated, he could also reach the field in carriage and at the end, winning and defeated, they celebrated with abundant libations preparing one of that famous "third times" that now survive only in the rugby. The first president of the Fanfulla Soccer was the lawyer Paolo Bonomi. They were adventurous years, but of vivacious growth and of great sporting development. They played friendly and tournaments, and it also happened to meet the International or the Milan in duels that perfumed indeed of derby. In the city they didn't miss other teams: there were the Praises Football Club, the association Students of the Pallavicino, the Sporting union Lodigiana, the Savoia in the Suburb Adda, the colleges Cazzulani, Cavour, La Marmora and S. Francesco; the game fields were the Two Keys, but also the island Bella and the Velodromo, over the Adda.
